WHY 3-RD WEEK OF NOVEMBER?

World Philosophy Day is celebrated every year on the 3rd week of November. On this occasion, Philosophy House is organizing the “Fujairah International Philosophy Conference” intending to emphasize the role of philosophy in developing human thought, promoting a culture of philosophical discussion, and the importance of philosophy in addressing many issues.

PHILOSOPHY & THE PRESENT

The discovery of the world’s deep movement has long been a source of interest and motivation for philosophy and philosophers. The course movement of history is not conveyed to us directly; rather, we must delve into this deep movement to uncover the connections and features that allow us to make probabilistic predictions about our history and its future.
However, the availability of learning from history and its truth is not given to us directly, so we have to delve into the depths in order to identify its dialectical interactions, understand its relevance, and attempt to anticipate its meaning for our present. The contemplation of this present entails capturing the widest range of possibilities, allowing us to turn any possibility into reality.

Based on this understanding, Philosophy House has taken on the task of examining our reality within a framework of prudent reflection on the totality of issues related to the present. In fact, the global dynamic process of general history does not allow any nation, state, or civilization to reflect on its reality without linking it to the history of the current world.
Working for a world in unity and committed to commemorate this thought, Philosophy House chose to host its second conference Philosophy and the Present on the occasion of the International Day of Philosophy. The conference framework includes the following topics:

  1. The present and its philosophical manifestations
  2. The Arab present, its challenges, and problems
  3. The Arab present and the move into the future
  4. Modernity or modernisation?
  5. Human being and digital power
  6. Philosophy and life: experiences and life issues
  7. Philosophy and the present

The conference coincides with the International Day of Philosophy, giving it more meaning for the participants.
